Ask the institution before buying a college package
A university may have a specific accessibility process for assistance animals in housing. Ask which office receives the request, what documentation it considers, and how a decision reaches residence life. A general letter does not automatically complete the institution’s application.
The process for a campus residence can differ from a privately managed student apartment. Identify who owns or controls your actual housing before selecting forms.
Give the clinician the real request
Bring the institution’s documentation instructions and any relevant deadline. Explain the animal’s support role and ask whether the professional can assess the need and address the form appropriately. Confirm practice authorization for the place where you will physically attend the appointment, including during a school break.
Do not ask a clinician to sign an animal-care agreement as though it were a clinical finding. Different documents may need different signers.
Plan life in the residence
Ask where an approved animal may go, how roommates are considered, what animal records are requested, and what arrangements apply during absences or breaks. Housing permission should not be read as automatic classroom, dining hall, or library access.
